Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated a groundbreaking housing project, offering free three-marla plots to deserving families under the Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme. During her visit to the newly developed "Zahra Homes" in Maskan-e-Ravi, Kala Shah Kaku, the Chief Minister personally handed over allotment letters and keys to 100 beneficiaries, marking a significant milestone in the province's commitment to uplift the underprivileged.
Expressing her satisfaction with the project, she praised the quality of construction and the extensive amenities provided. "This initiative reflects our unwavering dedication to improving the living standards of the less privileged," she stated during the event.
The Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme, a joint venture by the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and EPS Solutions Pakistan, is a model of sustainable development. The 400-square-foot homes are designed to be earthquake-resistant and energy-efficient, featuring a 5 kW solar power system to minimize utility costs.
In addition to the eco-friendly housing units, the scheme offers essential community facilities, including a school, mosque, playground, dispensary, and access to clean water through a reverse osmosis (RO) plant. These amenities aim to foster a vibrant and self-sufficient community for the residents.
This initiative is a significant step forward in addressing the housing needs of Punjab’s marginalized population. The government’s commitment to affordable housing and sustainability is reflected in this innovative scheme, setting a benchmark for future public housing projects in Pakistan.
With the Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme, the Punjab government continues to pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future, ensuring that no one is left behind.
